Oxnard - Commercial Office Relocation
The Move
40-person professional services firm relocating from a downtown Oxnard office to a larger space two miles away. The client could not afford any disruption to Monday-morning operations, which meant the entire move had to complete between Friday at 6pm and Monday at 7am.
Scope: 40 workstations, conference rooms, server rack, archive files, kitchen/break room, executive offices, and all artwork.
The Challenge
Two main constraints. First, the freight elevator at the destination building was only available between 8am Saturday and 6pm Sunday. Second, the server rack required careful tear-down by the IT team, transport in vibration-protected conditions, and re-installation in a specific window so the network was live by Sunday evening.
The art collection on the executive floor required special handling and custom crating for a small number of higher-value pieces.
The Approach
Pre-move site survey at both buildings to confirm freight elevator dimensions, floor protection requirements, and parking permit needs.
Eight-person crew with two trucks. Friday night: workstation tear-down, kitchen contents, archive files. Saturday: art collection (early), server rack (mid-day with IT team), executive offices. Sunday: setup, placement, and final cleaning.
The server rack was the critical-path item - we coordinated with the IT team for a 4-hour transport window in our vibration-protected truck.
The Result
Office fully operational by Sunday at 10pm. Monday morning, all 40 employees walked into their new workstations, plugged in, and resumed work. Zero downtime, zero damaged equipment, zero late items.
The client has referred us to three other Oxnard businesses since. We have completed two more commercial relocations from those referrals.
